FAQs

A secure platform of specialised AI tools, built specifically for UK social housing professionals.

About HousingAI

HousingAI is designed for professionals working in social housing. It is not a resident-facing tool.

HousingAI runs on a curated, sector-specific knowledge base with no open-internet retrieval - every answer is source-cited and reviewed within a legal framework, not generated from general training data.

The knowledge base is actively monitored for regulatory change and updated daily, with governance oversight including legal review - every answer links back to its source so you can verify it yourself.

Typical uses include reviewing policies and procedures against current regulation, drafting or updating documents, preparing for inspections, summarising complex guidance, generating board and committee briefings, and creating plain-English content for residents. It can also act as a quick reference when you want to sense-check your understanding against legislation and regulator expectations. You can also ask housing-specific questions to increase your knowledge and understanding.

Knowledge & accuracy

HousingAI is built on a structured knowledge base of Acts, statutory instruments, regulator standards, government guidance and recognised sector good practice, focused on England. This is reviewed by our strategic legal partner. You can also add your own internal documents so that answers can reflect your organisation's policies and local context.

We have a research team that works closely with our advisory committee to ensure that the knowledge base is updated daily with relevant, curated content.

No. HousingAI is a standalone knowledge and drafting tool. It works alongside your existing systems, not inside them. You can upload or paste content (for example, policies, procedures or reports), but it does not read directly from your live operational systems.

No. HousingAI enhances the role of your professionals, it does not replace them. It provides guidance and reference sources to save time and increase knowledge, but it does not provide advice in a legal sense. Final decisions should always be made by suitably qualified people in your organisation, and you should continue to take professional or legal advice where appropriate.

Data & security

No. HousingAI is not intended for use with personal data about residents, customers or staff. It should be used with policies, procedures, templates, strategies and similar material, not case records or identifiable personal information. HousingAI has guard rails that proactively look for and remove this type of information from being processed.

Any documents you choose to upload are used to provide services direct to your organisation and are not used to train the underlying base models that power HousingAI. Data is stored and processed in line with UK data protection law, and you retain ownership of your own content.

HousingAI is hosted and built on AWS modern cloud infrastructure with appropriate technical and organisational controls in place, including access control, logging and environment segregation. It is designed so that each organisation's data is isolated from others.

HousingAI supports continuous learning and role-based guidance, helping teams build and evidence competence at scale as the new standards come into force.

Practical

Yes, because every team draws on the same curated, source-cited knowledge base, the risk of one office answering differently from another is designed out, not left to individual judgement.
